Frequently Asked Questions
Gwahaju (과하주) is a Korean traditional wine documented in literature for over 400 years.
The name literally means "the Sool that carries you through summer" - crafted by adding distilled spirit to clear rice wine so it could withstand the summer heat.
Under Japanese colonial rule in the early 20th century, home brewing was suppressed and Gwahaju's lineage was broken for nearly a century. Kegzei has brought this tradition back.
13% ABV - closer to wine than to a spirit. Each bottle is 375ml.
Unopened, Gamtanju keeps for 18 months in a cool, dark place. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 7 days for best flavor.
A bright, citrus-forward opening with ripe fruit aroma — the influence of Jeju Hallabong. The body is light and clean, with a dry, silky finish. Think of it as Korea's answer to a fine sweet white wine, with the soul of traditional rice Sool. You can easily replace with Hugo or Apérol Spritz cocktails.
