Buyeo
A Millennium of Brewing Culture

Buyeo, in South Chungcheong Province,
was the final capital of the Baekje Kingdom (18 BCE – 660 CE).

Where the fertile plains of south-central Korea meet the clear waters 
of the Sabi River, the land has produced Korea's finest rice since Baekje.

This is the heart of a brewing culture that spans more than a thousand years.

Kegzei works hand in hand with Buyeo's young farmers, using the eco-friendly rice (Baekokhyang variety) they cultivate themselves.

Every bottle of Gamtanju carries the soil and water of Buyeo 
- and the hands of the next generation of Korean farmers.

The other defining ingredient of Gamtanju is organic Jeju Hallabong.

Considered the most distinguished of all Korean citrus, 
Hallabong is larger and sweeter than common mandarin,

named for the Mount Halla–shaped stem at its crown.

Its rich aroma, deep sweetness, and bright citrus form the heart of Gamtanju's flavor profile.
